There they are and there they'll stay!

One of the most iconic pair of shoes in cinematic history are the Ruby Slippers, worn by Dorothy Gale in the Wizard Of Oz.



These magical shoes offer those of us with crafty minds a challenge - to create our own!



So after being inspired by these gorgeous replicas on Etsy, I went out and purchased 17 metres of sequins and got to work.





I decided to forgo the bow for now as I thought it made them a little too cutesy, but I may add some plain sequined ones later when I have the time.

Dolls and Displays

I thought I should post my crafted jewelery frame sometime so here it is!
I got the instructions from the ModCloth blog.



And as a bonus here's my little doll necklace!



Obviously a rip off of Servan Gaxottes necklaces but I couldn't pass her up!
She originally had a checkered skirt on and hung from a pretty ugly chain so I crafted her a lovely lace skirt and put her on a simple silver chain.

This arrived the other day from TradeMe. Isn't it sweet?

Nearly Midnight

My favourite necklace recently stopped working (I think it had something to do with dropping it of the changing room floor in Glassons) so I've set it to nearly midnight as a reference to Cinderella :)

This was originally a brooch. It had a bow that the clock hung off, but now it's just a bow and a necklace.

No Place Like Home

Just downloaded the Wizard of Oz Soundtrack for my sister and was in a Ruby Slippers kinda mood.
